What to Expect at Your First Lash Appointment at Indigo Beauty Spa

Lash extension appointment at Indigo Beauty Spa Aventura Miami — spoolie brush and under-eye pads during lash service

Booking your first lash appointment can feel a little intimidating if you don't know what to expect. How long will it take? Does it hurt? What do you need to do to prepare? We get these questions all the time at Indigo Beauty Spa in Aventura — so we're breaking down exactly what your first visit looks like, from the moment you walk in to the moment you see yourself in the mirror.

Before You Arrive

A little preparation goes a long way toward getting the best results from your lashes.

Come with a clean face and clean lashes. No eye makeup, no mascara, no eyeliner. Product residue on your lashes affects how well the adhesive bonds, which directly impacts how long your set lasts. This is the single most important thing you can do before your appointment.

Skip the caffeine. We know — this one's hard. But caffeine can cause your eyelids to tremble slightly, which makes the application process more difficult and can affect precision. A calm, still client always gets a better result.

If it's your first visit, arrive 10 minutes early. We'll take a few minutes before your service begins to do a consultation — looking at your natural lash health, discussing the style you want, and making sure we choose a set that works for your eye shape and lifestyle. This conversation is important and we don't rush it.

Your Consultation

At Indigo, we don't hand you a menu and ask you to pick a style. We look at your natural lashes first — their length, texture, and health — and then we talk about what you want. Natural and wispy? Full and dramatic? Something in between?

Our lash artists will recommend what works best for your specific lashes and eye shape. We care deeply about the integrity of your natural lashes, so we'll never apply a weight or length that could cause damage. If something you're asking for isn't right for your lashes, we'll tell you — and we'll suggest what is.

During the Service

Once your consultation is done, you'll lie back on the treatment bed and close your eyes. That's genuinely all you have to do.

Your lash artist will place under-eye pads to protect your lower lashes, then apply extensions one by one to each individual natural lash. The process is meticulous — proper isolation is everything. It's what separates a set that looks seamless from one that clumps or causes damage.

A full set typically takes between 2 and 3.5 hours depending on the style and volume you choose. Most clients find it deeply relaxing — many fall asleep. You won't feel a thing.

The Reveal

When your artist is done, you'll open your eyes and see your new lashes for the first time. We love this moment.

Before you leave, we'll go over your aftercare instructions — what to do in the first 24 hours, how to cleanse your lashes, and what to avoid. Taking care of your lashes after your appointment is just as important as the application itself, so we make sure you leave knowing exactly what to do.

Booking Your Fill

We recommend booking your fill appointment before you leave Indigo. Lash extensions shed with your natural lash cycle and need to be refreshed every 2 to 3 weeks to stay looking full. Planning ahead means you always have a spot and your lashes never get to the point of looking sparse.
